Woodland Hills Mooresville is a POA.  Generally, our intentions are "live and let live."  Everyone wants to be proud of where they live and make it the best it can be, right?  That is why we have compiled this list to remind everyone what it means to be a

“Woodland Hills Good Neighbor”

  1. Pay the $70 per year dues.  These minimal annual dues pay for maintenance on the community
dock and Woodland Hills Monument.  These things are a benefit to our community and add value
    to your home.

  2. Take Pride in Your Neighborhood – Get to know your neighbors and embrace your neighborhood.
Find out what you can do to make it better and tell others how much you love your community.

  3. Introduce Yourself – You don’t have to be best friends with everyone in the neighborhood but take
the time to introduce yourself and learn people’s names.

  4. Help Maintain Shared Space – Good Neighbors don’t just take care of their own space or yard.
They also look out for the community spaces like easements, parks, monument signs, etc.

  5. Be Mindful of Your Pets – I know it’s shocking but not everyone loves dogs as much as you.  Please keep your pets on a leash and pick up after them. If your dogs are barking please quiet them or bring them inside. Pets are one of the most common aggravations between neighbors.

  6. Attend Neighborhood Meetings and Events – Get Involved.  It doesn’t have to be your full-time side gig but the more active everyone in the neighborhood is, the nicer it will be!

  7. Don’t be Defensive – If someone asks you to quiet down or tells you your barking dog is making them crazy, don’t get defensive.  Listen, apologize, and figure out a solution. If you think their accusations aren’t your fault, mention it calmly and offer to help find out what’s really going on.

  8. Resolve Disputes in Person – If you are having an issue with your neighbor, try talking to them first before complaining about them to anyone who will listen.  Your POA is here to help but it is always recommended to have a civil conversation with them first and you will typically get a better result!

  9. Be Generous with Compliments – Let your neighbors know what you like about them; their kindness, Christmas decorations, their kids…Good Neighbors notice and who doesn’t like a compliment now and then?

  10. Invite Neighbors to Parties – This will help build bonds and show your generosity.  The best way to keep the peace in the neighborhood is to get to know each other!

  11.  Spruce up your Yard, Stoop, or Balcony – We all work hard to be proud of our homes.  Remove contractor signs once the job is completed. Take a quick look around and see if there’s something you could do to “freshen” things up a bit.
